Terms of Use

These rules apply when you use Minnesota Residents Directory. By continuing to use the reference, you agree to them; if you do not agree, please stop using the site.

1. What This Website Is

Minnesota Residents Directory is a private information resource that explains and links to public rolls, indexes, and historical directories. It does not store government records and is not affiliated with a Minnesota office, court, or records custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use this reference only in ways allowed by law. You must not use its pages or search results to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or injure a person
  • Find a person shielded by a restraining or protective order
  • Carry out fraud or identity theft
  • Make a decision covered by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish large parts of the site's material
  • Disrupt the site's operation or compromise its security

3. No Consumer Reports or FCRA Decisions

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.). Neither the site nor the outside tools it links to provide a consumer report, and their information cannot be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Links to Outside Sites

Each government portal and outside service, including a sponsored search provider, sets its own terms. We do not control or accept responsibility for those services' content, availability, charges, or data handling.

5. No Warranties

The reference is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties. We make no promise that a page is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will be available or return a correct result.

6. Limits on Our Liability

As far as the law permits, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages tied to use of the site or an outside resource, including choices based on a record found there.

7. Indemnification

You agree to protect the site operators from claims, demands, and reasonable attorneys' fees that arise from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Copyright protects the site's original writing, design, logo, and layout. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit, but you may not republish complete pages or copy the material systematically.

9. Changes to These Terms

We can revise these terms by placing an updated copy on this page. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.

10. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or limit access, without advance notice, when someone breaks these rules or misuses the service.

11. Minnesota Law

Minnesota law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Public inspection and copying of government records are addressed by Minn. Stat. §13.03 and related parts of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, chapter 13. Those public-access rules apply to the government office holding the requested data.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
